Early Years Funding

All 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to universal funding for early years education of 15 hours per week for 38 weeks per annum.

30 hours funding is available to 3 and 4-year-old children of working parents subject to certain eligibility criteria.

We apply a charge for meals, consumables and all additional extras provided at Cherry Blossom Preschool over and above the provision of high quality, flexible childcare. This includes:

All meals and snacks

Forest School

PE sessions

Increased staff ratios and quality of staff

Additional services which serve to increase the quality of provision (e.g., cultural diversity training, etc.)

Additional Charges

The 15 or 30 hour funding can be taken over any sessions to cover the full cost of that session. The additional charges that parents will then be asked to pay are as follows:

Supplementary Charge

School Day

Full day

For children attending all year, funding may be stretched over the whole year. The maximum number of hours claimed in a year will be 570 hours for (15 hours per week) or 1140 hours (for 30 hours per week). If funding is stretched, this will equate to 11.17 hours per week for the universal funding or 22.8 hours per week for the extended funding. If additional hours are taken, over the entitlement of funded hours, normal fees will apply.

Two-Year Old Funding

Certain two year old children whose families receive some kind of support may be eligible for 15 hours per week free childcare for 38 weeks per annum. Funding covers all hours up to 15 hours per week during term time and an additional charge of £2 per day will be charged to cover meals and consumables.

Support with Childcare

Employer Voucher Scheme

We accept vouchers from most Employer Voucher Providers. Please advise us if you intend to use these vouchers.

Voucher payments must be set up so that they are paid in advance of the month they are being used to pay. Many employers pay their staff at the end of the month and thus if the voucher is not received in advance you will become in arrears with your payments and attract a late payment fee.

It is your responsibility to keep track of your voucher payments and ensure that they are being paid as expected.

We allow some flexibility for payment of termly invoices with vouchers, as the term period will often cover two months. As long as the second voucher has been received by a week before the start of the next term a late payment fee will not apply.

Tax Free Childcare Scheme

To qualify, parents will have to be in work, and each earning at least £115 a week and not more than £100,000 each per year.

For every 80p you or someone else pays in, the government will top up an extra 20p.

The government will top up the account with 20% of childcare costs up to a total of £10,000 – the equivalent of up to £2,000 support per child per year (or £4,000 for disabled children).

The scheme is available for children up to the age of 12 so can be used for before and after school care as well as nursery care.

Any eligible working family can use the Tax-Free Childcare scheme – it doesn’t rely on employers offering it.
